Currently finished, this 2700 sq. foot single family residence replaced the existing house that was lost in the San Diego fires of 2007. The design includes a 17’ tall ‘great room’ that separates the two living ‘wings’. A covered patio on the South side offers beautiful views over the east county of San Diego while a nice northern courtyard greets visitors as they approach the front door.

Completed this year, this residential remodel will help Terry Dutton and his wife become independent of the electrical grid. Sustainable attributes of the design include a 5 kW photovoltaic system, solar hot water for domestic and pool and harvesting rain water.

Construction Budget: $300,000 Grover Beach, Ca
Dave DeGroot and Annette Ausseresses are designing their new house to replace their existing ‘shack’. This new house will take advantage of their 180 degree ocean view while respecting the neighborhood and the environment.
This new deck addition replaced an existing deck that was in disrepair. The new design featured custom glass panels for the rails as well and exterior lighting underneath. A new barbque pit was integral to the design as well. DTV Designs designed, permitted and assisted with construction administration throughout the process.
